Why Wabi-Sabi?
“Wabi-Sabi” is the Japanese belief in the beauty of imperfection and incompleteness, leaning into one’s evolution as a “work-in-progress”. It embraces conflict, self awareness, and continual, routine maintenance as one grows and evolves.
As a second-generation Japanese woman, I have been surrounded by examples of wabi-sabi in practice by my grandparents, mother, and relatives. The wabi-sabi mindset does not encourage a fight/win/lose mindset, but rather a patient, precise, and focused path forward.
I make it a conscious goal to incorporate wabi-sabi into my work, personal life, and individual pursuits.

Other Projects I Care About
I have had the incredible privilege of choosing to invest my time, attention, and energy into projects and organizations that speak to me and my family. Through these efforts, I’ve contributed to building sustainable businesses and referenda campaigns, fought for kids with disabilities and special needs, advocated for the inclusion of programs to support LGBTQIA+ youth, and served in Board leadership positions within local and national organizations.
